Vanguardngr- Etisalat Nigeria has reiterated its support for innovation and creativity in the country as the 5th edition of Nigeria’s only international arts festival of photography, LagosPhoto Festival announces its second phase.
The second phase of the festival will feature workshops on technique and style, photo exhibitions, discussion sessions and displays of large scale prints to reclaim and beautify public spaces within Lagos State.
At a press conference which held on 17th October, the Chief Executive Officer, Etisalat Nigeria, Matthew Willsher, revealed that “Etisalat is passionate about innovation and creativity.
We have also been in the forefront of promoting excellence, nurturing talent and providing platforms for people to express themselves and communicate their ideas. It is in this light that we have sponsored the LagosPhoto Festival right from inception about 4 years ago.”
Willsher also indicated that a high level of participation had already been recorded in the Etisalat Photography Competition which is an integral part of the LagosPhoto Festival, noting that lots of entries are being uploaded regularly to the Official LagosPhoto Mobile App, which is powered by Etisalat.
Sequel to the opening events, the annual LagosPhoto fundraising gala dinner will hold on November 2, 2014 to raise support for the artists whose images continue to push the boundaries of photography.
The 5th edition of LagosPhoto, which has the theme “Staging Reality, Documenting Fiction”, has been running since July this year where it was flagged off with the World Press Photo Exhibition and the Etisalat Photography Competition tagged ‘Mastering the Selfie.’
