Some few hours back, a friend and a reader of this blog sent me a message to inquire on how to install and Use Carrington Mobile Theme on his WordPress blogs. In other to avoid recurrence of tutorials, I decided to put this up for everyone to benefit from as a detailed post.
Following one of my post where I had talked on how to add google adsense ads to carrington theme which is exclusively for mobile version of WordPress blog, I talked exclusively on what carrington mobile theme is and its advantage over other wordpress mobile version plugins or themes and one of its unique advantage apart from been fast in loading, is the area of google adsense ads been rendered to mobile visitors.
My only problem with this theme is the area of customization. Yeah, probably I haven’t really had enough time to go through customizing it on my own blog but looking at other blogs using the theme, the designs seem to be the same, unlike Mobilepress which is pretty easy to customize to your choice of design.
Well, without much talks, let’s head over to what the subject or point of this post entails;
How To Install And Use Carrington Mobile Theme On WordPress
Well, you really won’t be needing access to your hosting control panel in other to accomplish this but you definitely need access to your blog dashboard.
Steps:
Download Carrington Mobile theme(You can search through Google for the link to download or ask via comment)
Log into your WordPress dashboard and Navigate to Appearance » Themes » Install Themes » Upload » Click Browse and Select where you downloaded the carrington mobile theme, choose the file and click Upload.
After successfully uploaded, please do not activate the theme.
Next, navigate to plugins » Add New » Search for WordPress Mobile Pack, Install and activate the plugin.
Next, Navigate to appearance » Mobile Switcher, Under Mobile theme, select Carrington Mobile and click on Save changes.
Now, try visiting your blog using a mobile device and you should be rendered the carrington mobile theme for your blog.
